WEIMAR – The Wildcats have officially surpassed their 3-7 record from last season just four games into the current season. Each of the four wins for Weimar have been in dominating fashion as they controlled the trenches on both sides of the ball; getting after the quarterback defensively and making huge holes for their running backs on offense. That trend continued against Snook as they hosted the Bluejays for their homecoming game. The Wildcats stuck to the gameplan as they reached the 50-point threshold for the third time this season in a 51-20 victory. 09/20/2023 12:00 AM

They got their chance to prove it as their offense returned along with plenty of former Raiders for Homecoming on Sept. 15 against Palacios. Rice found their biggest scoring performance of the season, breaking the 50-point margin for the first time and finished the game with a 56-7 victory. 09/20/2023 12:00 AM

COLUMBUS – The Lady Raiders have had much better results in the record book this season as they continue their efforts to try to become a factor in the district title race. They still have more ground to cover as they got their first look against the team that is favored to take the district championship this season: the Columbus Lady Cardinals. The match proved to be reflective of the dynamic between a team that is in the process of rebuilding and one that had just made a state semifinal appearance the year before. Columbus showed why they are currently one of the top teams in the state with a three-game sweep over the Lady Raiders. 09/13/2023 12:00 AM

Lady Cards have undefeated week
The Lady Cards are in the midst of a winning streak after taking a pair of match wins during last week’s competition. As Columbus enters the district portion of the schedule, the Lady Cards are hoping the experience of playing larger schools will help them take another district championship. Columbus has maintained their spot as one of the top teams in the state with the eighth-place ranking in the TGCA poll and a fourth-place ranking in the AP poll. They will try to keep that level of play throughout the rest of the season to give themselves a chance to take the top spot in the district. 09/06/2023 12:00 AM
