The Rice Raiders played in two district games last week against Yoakum on Tuesday, April 2, and then Edna on Saturday, April 6.

The Raiders started the week by traveling to Yoakum to play the Bulldogs, and unfortunately ended up losing the game 10-2. The Raiders struggled to find their rhythm offensively and it is a problem that continued in Saturday’s game. While the Raiders responded well on defense in Saturday’s game, they were shutout on offense and Edna ended up scoring the only run in the game in the top of the 7th inning to win the game 1-0.

The two losses left a sour taste in the Raiders’ mouths. They will look to bounce back into the win column against Tidehaven on Tuesday, April 9, in Altair on the Raiders home field.
