This Saturday, March 30, Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host Easter on the Bluff, celebrating one of the most beloved Bluff Schuetzenverein traditions. This year’s event will feature living history programs, children’s egg hunts, games, and an Easter fire. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, beverages, chairs or blankets, and flashlights.

Katie Parker still gets nervous just crossing the street. Eight years ago, a careless driver plowed into her and her dog, Riley, while they were out for a jog. Parker was hit with such force that she was thrown more than 60 feet. Riley, a Great Dane, was killed on what was supposed to be a pleasant morning jog.

Javier Mendoza is the son of Laura Lozano and Ines Mendoza. He has been an active FFA member all four years of high school and has had the privilege to hold a variety of offices throughout his service.
Alley Fitzgerald is the daughter of Brian and Rashelle Fitzgerald. She has been an active member of the Columbus FFA Chapter throughout her high school career and has dabbled in a wide array of activities within the organization. Texas A&M Forest Service is awarding $8.25 million through the Texas Climate-Smart Initiative, a financial incentives program to fund non-industrial, private, small-acreage landowners. The five-year project, led by Texas A&M AgriLife Research and funded by the USDA’s Partnership for Climate-Smart Commodities grant, will provide financial incentives to agricultural commodities across Texas.
AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved more than $20.6 million in local park grants, a near record, to help create and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities.
