The Weimar Wildcats played on Tuesday, March 26, against Shiner and on Thursday, March 28, against Bloomington and ended up splitting the games with a loss and a win.

The Wildcats earned their third district win of the season and put them right back in contention for a playoff spot.

@ Shiner, L, 11-1

The Wildcats started their week by traveling to Shiner to take on their district rivals on Tuesday, March 26.

They started the game out strong earning the first run of the game in the top fo the first inning to set the tone. They received great pitching a stellar defensive play while out in the field for the first four innings but then Shiner opened the gates offensively.

Shiner tied the game in the bottom of the third inning and scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth. They followed that up with a six-run inning in the fifth inning and then the game was called.

The wheels fell off for the Wildcats as the game went on and Shiner heated up in the batter’s box. It’s a tough game to lose to any team but to lose that way to a district team meant a little more to the Wildcats and they showed it in their next game.

Vs. Bloomington, W, 20-0

In their second game of the week the Wildcats bounced back in a massive way and it took them three innings to secure the win.

The Wildcats were back on their home field and ready to put on a show for the home crowd. In the first inning, the Wildcats scored nine runs and followed that up with 11 runs in the second.

Several Wildcats recorded a double including Huxton Kloesel who had two and Ashton Wahrenberger, Logan Kainer, Wyatt Lacina and Weston Pavlik all recorded one double.

Drew Montgomery added to the offensive firepower by recording a triple in the game which only helped grow the Wildcats’ lead.

The Wildcats now set their sights on Schulenburg who is next on their schedule looking to climb the standings even higher with another win.
