The Columbus Lady Cardinals volleyball team continues to rack up awards long after their season ended with two of their players being named to the Class 3A Super Elite Team.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals secured one more win on Wednesday, Dec. 20, before taking a break for the Christmas holiday.

The Weimar Ladycats played two games last week and came away with one win and one loss.

The Columbus Cardinals basketball team was defeated 63-54 by the Yoakum Bulldogs on Friday night on their home court.

LADYCATS ACADEMIC ALL-STATE HONORS

The Weimar Wildcats won one of their first two games at the Thorndale tournament on Thursday, Dec. 7, and Friday, Dec. 8.

The Rice Lady Raiders have snapped their losing streak after 10 games to capture their first win of the season.

Coming off of a district loss to Edna the Lady Cardinals competed in the Flatonia tournament where they got back on track with four wins.

The Columbus Cardinals traveled to Cameron Yoe High School to compete in their varsity basketball tournament on Thursday, Dec. 7, to Saturday, Dec. 9, and walked away with a 2-2 record.

The Weimar Ladycats traveled to Moulton to compete in their tournament and posted a 2-2 record.

The Lady Cardinals had three seniors named to the All-State Volleyball team with one of them making the Legacy All-Star team.

The Rice Raiders are off to a fantastic start this season and now they have a tournament championship to add to their early momentum.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals senior outside hitter Ally Tribe has officially signed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Texas at San Antonio on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
