The Weimar Ladycats defeated the Waelder Wildcats 63-7 to start their season off in dominate fashion.

The Weimar Wildcats traveled to Robstown and defeated the La Villa Cardinals 28-6 to be crowded the Area Champions on Friday, Nov. 17.

Team threepeats as Regional Champions

The Columbus Cardinals regular season has come to a close they finished with an overall record of 10-0 and ranked the number one team in the state but it was their strong district season that helped them secure the top spot in the rankings.

The Rice Raiders season has drawn to a close and they had one of the most productive offensive district seasons.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals traveled to Seguin High School on Monday, Nov. 6, and defeated the Jourdanton Lady Squaws to advance in the Class 3A bracket.

The Columbus Cardinals traveled to Bastrop Memorial Stadium on Friday, Nov. 10, to take on the Rockdale Tigers in the first round of the 2023 UIL Playoffs.

The Weimar Ladycats softball team received their championship rings on Thursday, Nov. 9, because of their State Championship run last season.

The Weimar Ladycats season came to an end on Tuesday, Nov. 7, after losing to the Thrall Tigerettes in the Regional Quarterfinal.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals have officially punched their ticket to the State Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 11, which will be held at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals were crowned Area Champions on Thursday, Nov. 2, after defeating Hondo in Nixon, TX.

Week ten of The Citizen’s Football Fever contest resulted in one person picking eight of the eight games right. For second place we had a four-way tie which led to the tie-breaker game between Columbus vs. Hempstead. Ryan Beane, of Columbus, is the first-place winner. Robert Chaloupka, of Columbus, is the second-place winner. Robert had the closest score for the tie breaker game. Remember while there is a team from Colorado County in the playoffs then Football Fever will continue. This week all ballots need to be dropped off at the Citizen’s office (2024 Hwy 71 in Columbus) or emailed to melissa. theriot@ coloradocountycitizen. com by 5 p.m. on Thursday to be eligible to win.

The Weimar Wildcats are enjoying a much-deserved bye week this week after securing a spot in the playoffs last week so now it is time to look at who were some top performers for the Wildcats offense this season.
