Six Wildcats selected to the All-District team

The Weimar Wildcats season ended with them on the outside, looking in on the playoff picture, but that did not stop six of their players being selected to the All-District team.

Huxton Kloesel, Wyatt Lacina, Weston Pavlik, Collin Morrison, Ethan Stech and Logan Kainer were the six Wildcats chosen and for good reasons.

Kloesel was selected to the First All-District team as a pitcher. He was easily one of the most consistent pitchers on the bump in the district throwing 35 innings and striking out 57 batters along the way.

Kloesel also contributed on offense as well, with a .413 batting average and an on base percentage of 57%. He recorded 11 RBIs and scored 21 times throughout the season, earning first-team All-District honors.

Lacina was selected to the First All-District team as a catcher. Lacina was put on a masterclass as the field general behind the plate for the Wildcats.

Catcher is the only position on the field that can see every position on the field and Lacina took a lot of pride in that role. He was an expert and predicting base runners and was lethal at throwing runners out at second base.

He was a defensive guru behind the plate, but he, like Kloesel, was a threat on offense. Lacina posted a .396 batting average with an on-base percentage of 53%. He hit seven doubles, recorded 12 RBIs and scored eight times.

Pavl ik was the last Wildcat to make the First All-District team as a utility player. Pavlik was the perfect complement to Kloesel on the mound for the Wildcats.

Pavlik pitched 35 innings while striking out 44 batters. Pavlik did his damage at the plate though being the best hitter in the Wildcats line up.

Pavlik posted a .540 batting average with an on-base percentage of 62%. Pavlik hit 10 doubles, a triple and a home run this season and capped it all off by being named the First All-District team.

Morrison and Stetch were selected to the Second All-District team as an infielder and an outfielder, respectively. These two were amazing on the defensive side of the ball and were menaces while running the bases.

They ut i l ized thei r speed to their advantage and teams struggled to get them out once they made it on base.

Last but certainly not least is Kainer who was an Honorable Mention for the All-District teams. Kainer was calm within the storm of baseball season that was filled with ups and downs.

While there were tons of chaos throughout the season Kainer remained even keeled. Wi ldcat coaches knew what they were going to get out of Kainer every night and he earned himself a mention along with the All-District teams.
