Elections Office records 54 voters for first day of early voting

Early voting started April 24 and the Colorado County Elections Office has calculated the following stats from the first day: 54 total people voted – 30 at the Colorado County Annex, 6 at the Weimar City Hall, and 18 at the Eagle Lake Community Center.

Megan Rae Mangum, 44 of Columbus died on April 24, 2023, at TLC Nursing and Rehab in Columbus, Texas. She was born on July 12, 1978, to Patricia Gordy Mangum and Mike Mangum. She had daunting challenges every day of her life but seldom let it get her down. She could light up a room with her smile and her laugh was infectious. She will be greatly missed.

The Weimar City Council has been overseeing and moving forward with a number of aesthetic and infrastructure improvements as there are many future changes that are on the way for the city. While these changes are not necessarily related to the upcoming Gedenke festival or the city’s 150th birthday, the timing of these improvements fit nicely with these celebrations as they approach.

WEIMAR – 10 volunteers from Oakridge Ranch Wildlife Management Association showed up on Earth Day, Saturday April 22, to pick up litter on County Road 215. The organization said on the 3.1 miles from the North Gate to County Road 215, about a half a dozen bags of trash were picked up. The organization would like to thank everyone who participated.
