Heritage Society Museum hosts Weimar 150th Celebration Kickoff to Gedenke

WEIMAR – The Weimar Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors to learn about the history and culture of Weimar by attending a “come-and-go” event at the Heritage Society Museum.

WEIMAR – The Weimar Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors to learn about the history and culture of Weimar by attending a “come-and-go” event at the Heritage Society Museum.

The 150th Celebration Kickoff to Gedenke will take place Thursday, May 11, from 5-8 p.m. at the museum. The Chamber said the unique and festive event will showcase the beginning and continued history of Weimar, as well as highlight the significance of the Gedenke festivities.

Attendees can expect to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and a delectable charcuterie spread, according to a release. The Chamber said attendees will have the opportunity to explore the exhibits and artifacts that document the story of Weimar, from its founding to present day.

The Heritage Society Museum of Weimar is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and sharing the history of Weimar. According to a release, the museum features a wide range of exhibits, collections, and events that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the town and its residents. Through engaging and educational experiences, the museum aims to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse stories that have shaped Weimar’s past and present.
