COLUMBUS – Last week, Columbus Community Hospital recognized its auxiliary volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week.

The hospital said its auxiliary volunteers have volunteered more than 3,500 volunteer hours since May 2022. According to a release, collectively, they have volunteered nearly 240,000 hours at the hospital since 1980.

“Our volunteers are an essential part of our team,” said Columbus Community Hospital CEO James Vanek. “We’re grateful for their time and selfless commitment to our hospital and community.”

The hospital said auxiliary volunteers provide important, nonmedical assistance for the hospital and help with a variety of patient and family support tasks, supplementing the hospital’s ability to provide care for the growing Columbus region.
