COLUMBUS – A lighting strike was spotted Friday morning, April 21, west-northwest of Great Southern Wood Preserving, 1050 Great Southern Way.
Joel Staner witnessed the lightning strike and said, “It was noteworthy in real time due to its apparent width to my naked eye.”
Staner went on to say that he found the strike interesting because it looked like it made contact with the ground.
In one of Staner’s photos, an orange ray that looks like fire, appears to have occurred from the strike.
Staner said if a fire did occur it most likely would not have lasted due to the heavy rain.
