Parents as Teachers of Rural South Central Texas (formerly Parents as Teachers Schulenburg-Weimar) celebrated National PAT Day on Nov. 8.
ST. MICHAEL FIELD TRIP
Columbus Education Foundation (CEF) received an outstanding gift from the Hancher Family: $25,000 to enhance educational opportunities for Columbus Independent School District (CISD) students. The donation will make more scholarships available for both college, trade and technical schools.
The beginning of November found SAS celebrating All Saints Day and All Souls Day. SAS 4th graders presented their Living Museum of Saints projects on Nov. 1 in honor of All Saints Day. Students chose a saint to research, and “came to life” to present their project in character. Parents and other SAS students enjoyed learning about the lives of over 20 saints.

Second grade St. Michael students researched and portrayed saints for All Saints Day Mass. St. Anthony School Homecoming is on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Mums, garters and lots of orange are all over campus as the Saints football team takes on St. Michael of Weimar on Cardinal field at 6 p.m. Students at the Oct. 18 Homecoming pep rally will see either Tracy Theut, Shanna Collins or Fr. James Dvorak get “pied”, depending on whose jar collects the most money.
