HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston University recently released their list of students that received academic merits from the prior semester. Many students that originated from Colorado County are featured on the list due to their classroom performance at the university. The following is a list of the students from the county that reached Sam Houston’s Dean’s List and President’s List.
The students that achieve the Dean’s List must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5 in each class while being enrolled as a full-time student with at least 12 semester hours. The President’s List is for those full-time students who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Fall semester.
The Dean’s List winners included several students from Weimar as they received recognition for their achievements. Clay Barton, Raelyn Brown, Kelsee Cowart, Kylie Helmcamp, Jaydee Martinez, Hannah Mick and Megan Vacek earned spots on the Dean’s List.
Eagle Lake was represented as well as Makayla Cooper, Caleb Murray and Jennifer Wiese made the Dean’s List.
Rianna Flores, Jacob Heffley and Mary-Kathryn Heger earned the designation as students from Columbus.
Alleyton was represented by Israel Salinas and Naydelin Silva while Garwood was represented Jalayaha Johnson.
Salinas and Silva were also present on the President’s list with perfect GPAs during the Fall 2023 semester.
Weise from Eagle Lake earned the distinction as well and Barton, Helmcamp, Mick and Vacek from Weimar earned their spots on the President’s List.
