Throughout February and early March, Industry State Bank has been participating in Credit for Life programs at various schools in the county and gave a money smarts course sponsored by Habitat for Humanity.

On Feb. 15, Industry State Bank participated in the Credit for Life program put on by the Columbus Christian Women’s Organization at Rice High School.

This program allowed high school seniors a trial run at the adult world, which they are about to truly experience after graduation in May. The students received a credit score and job salary and had to make various financial decisions, such as buying a car, finding housing, choosing a credit card, etc.

ISB was able to lend a hand in the Credit Counseling Center where the students were able to see if they had been successful in their decision-making process. The students gained a lot of insight through the program, and ISB expressed their pride to be a part of it.

On Feb. 28, Industry State Bank participated in CCWO’s Credit for Life program at Weimar High School. The students gained the same level of insight as they learned a bit about how life will function following their schooling years.

On March 4, Industry State Bank participated in Colorado County Habitat for Humanity’s Money Smart Financial Classes that they have been hosting the past few weeks.

Alan Kuehn and Rachel Kozel, Industry State Bank employees, spoke about credit cards, borrowing basics, and building and keeping strong credit reports and scores. Habitat for Humanity and ISB have the joint hope to assist members in our community by sharing beneficial information to build a stronger financial future together.
