My grandfather was a hunter, rancher, and executive director of the Texas Game and Fish Commission. My father both hunted and fished until a big war took him away. I was about six, then, and sadly never got to hunt with either of them.

ACCSS Summer Bridge Program helps students transition to college

SCHULENBURG – The Alliance for College and Career Student Success is offering a Summer Bridge Program with programming that targets all high school students, particularly those who are considering taking dual credit classes. Dual credit classes are taken while in high school and count as both high school and college credit. Through ACCSS, both academic and technical dual credit classes are offered through Blinn College for ACCSS partner schools, according to a release.

EAGLE LAKE – On July 4, at approximately 9:35 p.m., the Eagle Lake Police Department responded to the 300 block of Simmons Street in reference to a male and female who had been stabbed at the residence. The suspect had fled prior to arrival, the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office reports.
