COLUMBUS — The Columbus Christian Women’s Organization met for a special luncheon on Dec. 7 to discuss some of the things they have accomplished in the prior year and to give further donations to representatives of different philanthropic organizations throughout the county.

A panel of officers for CCWO led the proceedings as they covered many of the initiatives and successes the organization had in its donating and fundraising efforts throughout the last year. Estelle Mostyn began the event as the featured speaker as she described each of the accomplishments CCWO secured during a critical year for the organization. She credited many of her fellow panel members for the success that they achieved over the year.

The CCWO panel also discussed some of their plans, speaking on their involvement in Shop with a Cop for the Boys and Girls Club that occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 12 as well as the National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday of May in 2024.

Several charity and service organizations were represented in the crowd as CCWO donated several checks to these groups prior to lunch being served.

The Turtle Wing Foundation, The Wellness Council, Family and Youth Services, Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley, the Columbus Food Pantry and Colorado County Habitat for Humanity were the organizations that received significant contributions to their respective causes.

Each representative described how the funds would be used as the money would directly contribute to improving or furthering their abilities to serve the members of the community that fall under their jurisdiction.

The Columbus Christian Women’s Organization continues to provide funding and donations to organizations around town and the county at large as part of their ongoing mission to improve the lives of the residents in the area.
