Eagle Lake Remembers

John Roy Koepke entered his Eternal Rest on March 3, 2023, in Columbus, at the age of 87, after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born outside Ellinger on April 19, 1935.

Jean Marie (Spencer) Owens, 89, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Helen Catherine Lamp Noteboom of Garwood, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She was born Aug. 26, 1934 in Pipestone, Minn to the late Alvin and Catherine Lamp. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Gerald; sons Michael and wife Cheryl, Bryan, and Steven and wife Laurie; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

ADELPHI, Md. – The University of Maryland Global Campus named Jaydee Martinez of Weimar to the Dean’s List for the fall semester.

WEIMAR – The Lady Cards experienced many ups and downs as they battled through the Weimar tournament. Through three games, they were able to secure only one victory in their opening matchup against the tournament hosts.

As the soccer season enters its final weeks, both the Cards and the Lady Cards have been competing with some of the other top teams in their district to try to finish as high on the district standings as possible. While both teams have made strides towards reaching the top of the district, last week brought some pitfalls that slowed down their progress.
