LA GRANGE – On Tuesday, May 23, the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild held their second Charity Quilt Workshop.
On Wednesday, May 17, graduation exercises were held at St. Michael Catholic Church for the eighth-grade students of St. Michael Catholic School followed by a reception in the school cafeteria.
WEIMAR – At their meeting on Tuesday, May 16, the Weimar Lions recognized their scholarship winners.
COLUMBUS – The Columbus Garden Club said they were proud to have Columbus High School student Jordyn Templeton, her mother Joyce Templeton, student Ivett Hernandez and her mother Maria Guadalupe Hernandez attend the recent Springtime Tea and Installation Program for the upcoming garden club year. They were there to be introduced to the club members as the recipients of this year’s 2022-23 scholarships from the club.
Every year, Turtle Wing Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors from Fayette, Lavaca, and Colorado counties pursuing college and/or a trade school.

ROUND TOP – Round Top Publishers hosted their annual Designer Dinner on March 26 with a portion of proceeds supporting the Fayette Community Foundation.
LA GRANGE – The Fayette Community Foundation administered a $40,000 designated grant on behalf of an anonymous donor to the Fayette County EMS on Wednesday, April 12.

EAGLE LAKE – On Thursday, April 27, the Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club welcomed two representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation’s Yoakum District: Ryan Simper is the engineer for Wharton Area of the Yoakum District and is in charge of construction and maintenance within four counties. Lucean Kuykendall is the Public Information Officer for all the 11 counties in the Yoakum District.
