Teacher Appreciation Week was celebrated last week, May 8-12. On May 9, Industry State Bank wanted to show their support and appreciation of teachers by starting their day off with a meal for breakfast. The bank offered teachers at all Columbus Independent School District schools and St. Anthony’s Catholic School breakfast tacos, sponsored by ISB. The bank said they offered the meal to give thanks to all the teachers and staff for the hard work they put in year-round with their students.

COLUMBUS – The fifth-grade classes of Columbus Elementary School and St. Anthony Catholic School were scheduled to bury a time capsule on Thursday, May 11 at the Courthouse.

WEIMAR – The Friends of the Weimar Public Library and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Colorado County will present “Pasture Weed Identification: Strategies and Tips” at the Weimar Public Library, 1 Jackson Square, on Friday, May 26.

TYLER - The University of Texas at Tyler named Jose De La Garza of Eagle Lake to the spring 2023 Dean’s List.
