Financial incentives program aids forestry climate solution practices

Texas A&M Forest Service is awarding $8.25 million through the Texas Climate-Smart Initiative, a financial incentives program to fund non-industrial, private, small-acreage landowners. The five-year project, led by Texas A&M AgriLife Research and funded by the USDA’s Partnership for Climate-Smart Commodities grant, will provide financial incentives to agricultural commodities across Texas.

COLUMBUS – A Better Columbus discussed several ways to help improve the community with beautification efforts and community impact initiatives. At their Feb. 21 meeting, the ABC organization resolved to continue their campaign to get businesses to purchase and display flowers as they look to raise funds for future murals in town.

The First Church of the Nazarene hosted their iteration of Black History Month Celebrations with a program that featured poetry and music as they highlighted the arts created by African Americans.
