COLUMBUS – The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is looking for high school students eager to serve their community as junior ambassadors. The seventh annual Junior Ambassador Scholarship Award is now accepting applicants.

I am 59 years old, and I own several different businesses in Colorado county. I have over 20 years of law enforcement experience including as a patrol man, narcotics investigator, criminal investigator and chief investigator for the District Attorney’s Offices in Austin County and Waller County. 

My name is Will Schneider, I am 41 years old and I’m seeking election for Colorado County Justice of the Peace precinct 3. I’m the oldest son of Rhonda and the late Henry Schneider and a lifelong resident of Colorado County. 

I am a 57-year-old retired U.S. Secret Service Agent who is currently serving as Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Colorado County.

I am 54 years old and have been the Accounts Payable Clerk for Colorado County since March 2022. I worked at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange from 2011 to 2022. While at the church, I was the Receptionist, Financial Secretary and finally Office Manager. 

I am 44 years old, and I am the current Colorado County Tax Assessor Collector.

WEIMAR LIONS HOST LOCAL CANDIDATE TO DISCUSS PLATFORM

Fayette County EMS is at the forefront of redefining how first responders implement trauma-informed care for their personnel in Fayette County.

During the Thursday meeting of the Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club, Lions Club President Pat Pavlu welcomed his guest Lion Steve McCullough. McCullough serves as Zone 3B Chair, Lions Club District 2-S5, the largest district of Lions in Texas, with more than 2,265 Lions serving our communities.

I am 53 years old. I am the current constable of precinct 4 for Colorado County. I received my peace officer license in 1991 before I began working with the city of Richwood Police Department in Brazoria County for 10 and a half years.

I am 48 years old. I started my career in the construction industry in my teens. I worked in road and bridge construction in the early 90s including the San Jacinto River I-10 bridge. I have also worked in commercial and residential construction throughout my life such as Recreation centers in Houston, Bush Intercontinental terminal A and various hotels throughout the state. I have worked on and overseen many different construction sites. Some of my duties were supervisory over the years where I was to oversee employees and contractors and ensure the job stayed within budget and timeline. I worked for RICE CISD for 11 years with 9 of them being Grounds Director overseeing and working with the maintenance crew. I am currently self-employed in the construction industry as well as helping my wife with R&R Shaved Ice.

I’m 53 years old. I’m self-employed in the sand and gravel business, I haul sand, gravel and dirt materials along constructing building pads, entrances, driveways and road maintenance. I also bale hay and raise cattle.

I am 36 years old; I was raised on a farm and ranch, like many others throughout our community. I began my law enforcement career in 2009. I spent the majority of that time with the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, working through the ranks of Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Auto Theft Investigator, Sergeant Investigator, and currently Chief Deputy. 

I am 58 years of age, and currently handling a hazmat transport business, scheduling loads for pickup and delivery. Prior to that, I’d spent many years building my own utility business, working very closely with people, solving problems and making key decisions.

I have lived in Colorado county, Texas specifically Eagle Lake, for 39 years.

GLIDDEN – The crack of gunfire filled the air around Ms. Molly’s bar nearly an hour after midnight on Sunday, Jan. 28. The reported shots fired at the Glidden bar led to the arrests of two men who were found with two handguns that are alleged to be the weapons in use during the firing.

EAGLE LAKE – A task force composed of investigators from several local departments apprehended and booked a trio of alleged drug distributors in Eagle Lake in the early morning on Feb. 1 according to police.

Veteran journalist Jimmy Galvan has been named area editor for The Sealy News and the Colorado County Citizen, overseeing the newsgathering operations at both publications.

The March 5 election is a Primary, meaning that a political party holds the election.
