Columbus Historical Preservation Trust to hold Belle Orientation

COLUMBUS – The Magnolia Belles have been a tradition in Columbus for generations as the high school–aged girls in town are taught and display the class often associated with the Belles. The Columbus Historical Preservation Trust will be holding the Magnolia Belle Orientation Session on Saturday, Feb. 3 to introduce any high school female student to this important community tradition.

LA GRANGE – Wednesday morning’s flooding on Jan. 24 did not deter the members of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild from attending the “Improv” Workshop with Michelle Lavender. Michelle is from HollyDee Quilts in Luling, Tx. She showed the many ways to transform scraps into quilts, using a “Wonky” cut and an open mind. Her unique way of cutting and piecing was intriguing to each of the members present.

Church Annual Camp Meeting The Rock Island Full Gospel Church will be holding its annual Camp Meeting beginning on Monday night, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. It will continue Tuesday through Saturday night, Feb. 10 with daily services at 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Visiting ministers and singers from numerous states will be there to minister, sing, and fellowship. Meals and refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend for a time of worship, refreshing, and fellowship.
