NEW SOCCER LEAGUE CUTS RIBBON ON INAUGURAL SEASON

The Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum, located in Schulenburg Texas, is thrilled to mark its 25th anniversary with a special celebration on Saturday, April 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

A program called “Plants of the Bible” will be offered at the Columbus Garden Club meeting on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at The Lighthouse at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 Veterans Drive in Columbus. Arrive early for coffee and refreshments at 9:30 a.m.

Columbus city leaders are kicking off the 2024 Columbus Trash Off Event by urging all citizens to join in the annual citywide clean-up campaign. Each spring local citizens work together to clean-up the Columbus community from March through May by picking up litter, cleaning roadsides and parks, planting trees and flowers, painting fences, mowing vacant lots, helping neighbors with clean-up jobs, beautifying their homes and lawns, and removing debris. The spring cleanup campaign is part of the annual Keep Texas Beautiful statewide clean-up.

The Columbus Lady Cardinals played two district games last week against Rice Lady Raiders and then traveled to play the first play Hallettsville Lady Brahmas.

The Weimar Wildcats played on Tuesday, March 26, against Shiner and on Thursday, March 28, against Bloomington and ended up splitting the games with a loss and a win.

The Weimar Wildcats traveled to Altair to participate in the Swamp Relays on Thursday, March 28.
