Robert Ray Eaton, II, 40, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2023, in Columbus, Texas.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1982, to Robert Ray Eaton and Deborah Renee (Mitchell) Eaton in Corpus Christi, Texas. On July 8, 2013, he married Sydney Dagmar Lyle.

Robert earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Texas State University. He worked as a band director at San Marcos Academy, Royal ISD, and Columbus ISD. His latest endeavor was working as a Music Minister at St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a member. He also taught many private lessons on every instrument.

Throughout his life, Robert made his family and his music his focus. He loved every one of his students and learning about their lives. He enjoyed teaching everyone about music and life. Robert had a special place in his heart for all animals, especially his dogs. Robert loved to create and make things. He was innovative in finding ways to do things however he could. He loved using technology and learning new things. Robert always kept his trust in Jesus, and he let that shine through to everyone he met.

Robert is survived by his wife Sydney Eaton; mother Deborah Eaton; father Robert Eaton, Sr.; step-mother Nancy Eaton; mother-in-law Sue Lyle; service dog Willie Nelson and other pet companions Annie and Ella.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Marcus and Ruth Mitchell; paternal grandfather Willie Ray Eaton; paternal grandmother Bettye Seybert; father-in-law Rick Lyle; and service dog Nate.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, Texas with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating.
