HAZEL TOMEK TOMCHESSON
HAZEL TOMEK TOMCHESSON
Hazel was born Nov.13, 1932, in Rose Hill, Texas to Roland F. Tomek and Anna G. Auchter.
On Nov. 27, 1954, Hazel married Albert D. Tomchesson at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tomball, Texas. They settled in the Cypress area where they raised their four children and then moved to Eagle Lake in 1971 where they resided until her death.
Hazel had several jobs, including working at RCISD in the cafeteria, where she retired after many years, working at the Little League concession stand, and she also worked on the farm along with Albert and her children. She enjoyed cooking and making dewberry cobbler for her family. After their retirement they loved working in their large garden, fishing, hunting and camping.
Hazel took care of Albert after a back surgery in 2004, that left him paralyzed, from the waist down, until his death. It was a life-changing event for the family, but it didn’t slow them down. Modifications were made to the home, a special vehicle was purchased with a wheelchair ramp, garden tools lengthened, and deer stands revised. He was still able to go fishing with his family, occasionally on special fishing boats, and camping in campers that had an entry ramp, to continue to do the things they loved.
Hazel and Albert were long time members of Parish of the Nativity, and she was a charter member of Catholic Daughters Court Our Lady of the Fields #2465.
