Annie Margaret Girndt Moore, 87, of Rock Island, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2023, in Eagle Lake, Texas. She was born on May 2, 1935 to Lawrence Girndt and Bertha Carpenter in Rock Island, TX. On June 17, 1967 she married Michael William Moore, and they were proudly committed for 56 years.

Annie worked as a teacher for 38 years for various school districts, including El Campo ISD, Ganada ISD and Pasadena ISD. She was a classy lady who enjoyed qui lting, teaching her grandkids and doing puzzles with them, gardening, crafting, cooking, reading and practicing her organizational skills. She often accompanied Michael hunting, fishing and shooting. She was an excellent cook, and well known for her dewberry cobbler and fried venison, always served on her favorite colorful Fiestaware!

She was a member of Sheridan First Baptist Church, Sheridan Go-Getters, various gardening clubs, WMU and a volunteer with the Rock Island VFD.

Annie is survived by her husband Michael Moore of Rock Island, Texas; sons, Michael Scott Moore and wife Dorothy of Houston, Texas and William Todd Moore and wife Melanie of Deer Park, Texas; sister-inlaw Pennie Girndt of Rock Island, Texas; brother Max Girndt, Jr. of Rock Island, Texas; and grandchildren Cole, Abby, Wade, Clay, Crystal and Cierra Moore.

She was preceded in death by parents, Max and Bertha Girndt; and brother, Roy Girndt.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. Brother Allen Tangler, of First Baptist Church in Sheridan, Texas, officiated.

Burial followed in Myrtle Cemetery in Rock Island, Texas.

Pallbearers were Cole Moore, Wade Moore, Greg Buzek, Chad Girndt, Ruben Taylor and Austin Moore.
