PATRICIA ANN LEDNICKY COOK

PATRICIA ANN LEDNICKY COOK

Patricia Ann Lednicky Cook, adored mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, was welcomed into the Lord’s arms the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 25. She passed away peacefully in her home of over 50 years.

Pat, as everyone knew her, was born on Nov. 11, 1939, in Eagle Lake, to Adela and Albert Lednicky. She graduated from Eagle Lake High School in 1958 where she met the love of her life, Bob Cook. After a brief chase, he won her heart, and she agreed to marry Bob on November 6, 1960. They spent their entire lives in Eagle Lake where they raised three sons, Robby, Ronny, and Billy. Bob and Pat were happily married for 60 years. The family they created was one to aspire to. Their home on Melody Lane was a gathering place where friends became family, and the best memories were made. The fun and love shared all came from Pat as she lived to host. From her one-ofa- kind cheese dip to her famous meatballs, no one left hungry.

She had many passions in her life, but her most treasured was when she became a Mimi. Pat and Bob had six grand-

COOK, 7 children together whom they loved more than life itself. She lived to be a Mimi and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her grandbabies. Her bond with her grandchildren was deeply cherished. She dedicated everything she had to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always ensuring they had whatever they wanted and then some. She simply enjoyed being in her family’s presence, never wanting to miss an opportunity to be together. Mimi’s hugs were top notch, gifts were given just because, and her family and friends never doubted how much she loved them.

Throughout her life, Pat found joy in many things. She loved to bake, bowl, play golf, find seashells along Matagorda Beach, fish, deer hunt, play bridge, card games, and take summer vacations with her family in Rockport. She loved going riding in the evenings with her husband checking the rice fields, watching the sunset and waiting for the moon to come out. Taking care of her plants and watching her precious birds were some of her favorite past times. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #2465, Xi Pi Psi Sorority, Community Garden Guild of Eagle Lake, Eagle Lake Study Club, and her beloved Bridge Groups with her dearest friends.

Patricia Ann Cook is survived by her children, Robby and Mary Kay Cook of Eagle Lake, Ronny Cook of San Antonio, and Billy and Denise Cook of Eagle Lake. Her grandchildren Jenna Crosby and husband Justin of Columbus, Taylor Cook and wife Addie of Houston, Cydney Higerd and husband Kyle of Houston, Ashley Cook of College Station, Carter Cook of College Station, and Rachel Cook of Crescent, Oklahoma. Her great grandchildren Carson, Kate, and Cooper Crosby, Quinn and Fair Cook, Gage and Colleen Higerd. She is also survived by her sister Doris Crenshaw and her sister-in-law Karen Beken and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Cook, parents Adela and Albert Lednicky, brothers Patrick Lednicky and Cleo Lednicky, brothers-in-law Bob Crenshaw, Arthur Ray Beken, and David Cook, sisterin- law Myrna Cook. She is also preceded in death by her mother and father inlaw Bob Sr. and Ada Cook. We know she was welcomed with the warmest embrace by her loved ones who have gone before her, especially the love of her life, Bob.

A special thank you to Brenda Cunnigham and her staff, “Mimi’s Angels” for taking incredible care of Pat this past year. Also thank you to Houston Hospice for providing comfort to her this last week.
