PHILIP DALE POOL

Philip Dale Pool passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1948, in Paxton, Illinois, to James & Harriet Pool. Philip grew up in Clarence, Illinois. He was a 1967 graduate of Paxton High School and then went on to Heavy Equipment School in Chicago.

After graduating, he enlisted into the Navy SEABEES and was stationed at Port Hueneme in California. It wasn’t long before he spotted a beautiful young lady walking around Disneyland. When he spotted her again, about a week later at the USO Club, he knew she was someone special. Philip went on to do three tours in Vietnam and was awarded The Purple Heart, as well as several other medals. He and Barbara wrote to each other weekly. When he got out of the Navy, he and Barbara married in Simi Valley, CA on June 12, 1971. Then they packed up their GTO and moved back to Illinois. They later had two children, Trevor Ray and Stacy Lamar, who were both raised in the same little town he was in. In 1992, the family relocated to Wichita Falls, where Philip started work at Sheppard Air Force Base in the Heavy Equipment

POOL, 7 Shop. It was at the shop where he made so many lifelong friendships. Philip was an avid gun enthusiast and loved to teach others how to shoot. One of his favorite things to do was to have the guys from the shop out to the house to shoot, cookout, and socialize. He was a father figure to many. Philip loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Canoeing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert James Pool and his mother, Harriet Pool Shearer as well as his brother, Robert Pool.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Pool, his son Trevor Pool (Ericalea) his daughter, Stacy Lambert (James), his sister, Cindy Pufahl, and his brothers, Clyde Pool and Jim Pool. His beloved grandchildren, Seth, Tyler, Wyatt, Madeline Grace, Nathan, Waylon, and Amelia Grace as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering on March 8 at The Ranch in Eagle Lake. All who knew him are welcome to come. We hope to see you all there and reminisce on a wonderful life, well lived.
