DIANE CHERRY

Born on June 9, 1952, in Columbus, Texas, Diane was the cherished daughter of Dennis and Annie Mae Divin. She was one of four children and the only daughter. Diane graduated from Columbus High School and pursued a career in cosmetology, reflecting her passion for beauty and creativity.
On June 21, 1980, Diane married the love of her life, Michael Cherry. In 1985, they adopted their daughter, Andrea, a moment that brought Diane immense joy. Her happiness grew even more in 2007 when she became a proud grandmother to Madisyn.
Diane began her career as a beauty shop owner and hairdresser, a role that allowed her to connect with her community and express her artistic talents. Later, she worked as a manager at H-E-B for over 15 years, where her dedication and work ethic were widely admired.
In her leisure time, Diane found joy in traveling, camping, fishing, watching football, and playing dominoes with family and friends. Her vibrant personality and love for life left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Michael Cherry; her daughter, Andrea McNeese, and wife, Lyndee McNeese; her granddaughter, Madisyn McNeese; her brothers, Donnie Divin and wife, Beckey Zajicek, Ron Divin and wife, Kay Divin; her sister-in-law, Pat Divin; her mother-in-law, Anna Cherry; her sister-in-law, Carole Sterling; her brother- in-law, Jerry Denson; and numerous nephews and nieces as well as a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Annie Mae Divin; her brother, Tom Divin; her sister-in-law, Cherri Divin; her niece and goddaughter, Cheryl Keonig; her niece, Christie Slimp; her father-in-law, Stanley Cherry; her sister-in-law, Linda Denson; her brother- in-law, Donald Cherry and wife, Linda Cherry.
Diane will be remembered for her generosity, devotion to her family, and playful spirit. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on February 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville, Texas. Friends and family are invited to honor her memory by sharing stories, laughter, and love, just as she would have wanted. Refreshments will be served in a reception following.
