DELAYNE HELEN TAYLOR

DELAYNE HELEN TAYLOR

DeLayne Helen Allen, 69, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2024, at her home near Weimar, Texas. She was born in La Grange, Texas on December 22, 1954, to Frank Guenter and Vivian (Froehlich) Taylor.

A graduate of Katy High School, DeLayne went on to earn an associate’s degree in Horticulture from Tulsa Junior College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Systems and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

In 2009, she moved back to Texas from Wisconsin to help care for her elderly parents but continued to work in the food service industry.

DeLayne was an active member of the Glidden Baptist Church and treasured her church family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

She also loved her life in the Texas countryside, relishing the wildflowers, the hummingbirds that visited her bird feeders, and the sunsets that she loved to watch from her porch. A gentle soul, she had a kind heart and a ready laugh.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Caleb (Brandi) Allen and Dee Taylor Hansworth (Sarah) Allen; her grandchildren, Kennedy Allen, Aubrey Allen, Christian Allen, Reagan Allen, and Isaac Allen; her brother Stuart (Nancy) Taylor; her sister, Bronwyn (Mark) Griffith; and many fond family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private graveside service was held at the Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Texas (Fayette County).

Memorials can be made to Glidden Baptist Church, 209 Eighth Street, Glidden, Texas, 78943.

Services are under the Care and Direction of Fayette Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange, Texas. Online condolences may be given at https://www. fayettememorialfuneralhome. com/.
