RONALD BECK PRIESMEYER

RONALD BECK PRIESMEYER

Ronald Beck Priesmeyer, 77, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born on October 24, 1947, in El Campo to the late Frederick and Madeline Tobias Priesmeyer.

Ronnie loved to cook and for years did most of the family cooking. His chicken-fried steak was a special favorite. In more recent years, this hobby focused on baking cakes, cookies, muffins, and banana bread and sharing with friends all over town. He especially enjoyed gifting these treats to the employees of places where he did business.

Ronnie also had a life-long love of music. He taught himself to play a bit on piano, guitar and fiddle. His favorite music genre was country or western. This led to the great joy he had in dancing.

Over the years he kept a tally of all the ladies who had served as his partner. He took particular pleasure in giving impromptu Texas Two Step lessons to anyone who had never learned. Much to his delight, for several years, he had the opportunity to dance every week at the Broken Spoke dance hall in Austin. There he became acquainted with many Austin-area performers. His favorite was Dale Watson.

Ronnie was most of all a person who was fun to be with. Friends and family members enjoyed his sense of humor, his cooking skills, and many got to share an occasional dance.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Gerlach Priesmeyer; son, Jason Beck Priesmeyer and wife Emily; daughter, Amanda Priesmeyer Murphy; grandchildren, Natalie Blanchard and husband Jordan, Sophie Stueckemann and husband Jay, Kate Murphy and Evan Murphy; brother, Harry Priesmeyer and wife Tina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Good-byes will be said at a memorial service at the Methodist Church in Garwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
