ALAN WAYNE NEUENDORFF
He was born on December 7, 1948, to Dennis A. Neuendorff and Dorthy (Tietschert) Neuendorff in Columbus, Texas. On September 17, 1999, he married Mary M. Blankenship.
Alan worked as a mechanic in the oil field for Texaco-Chevron for many years and was also a cattle rancher. Following his retirement from Texaco – Chevron, Alan owned and operated his own machine shop and oilfield mechanic business, Bernardo Machine Works. He was a member of the Mentz Knights of Columbus and the Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department and spent time in the Coast Guard.
Alan enjoyed hunting and fishing, maintaining his cattle herd, baling hay and volunteering for the Bernardo Fire Department and St. Roch Catholic Church. He also enjoyed helping people in the community, spending time with family and giving the grandkids rides in his tractor.
Alan is survived by his wife Mary M. Neuendorff; children Walter Lee Neuendorff and wife Tomi, Bonnie Zell Cummins and husband Randy, and Richard Alan Neuendorff and wife Gina; step-children Jenifer Kayda and fiancé Jack Lemoine, Jina Hardy and husband King, Stacia A. Smith and husband Larry, John C. West, III and wife Kimberly, and Jason Lee West and wife Jennifer; sister Janice Brasher and husband Charles; brothers Marvin Neuendorff and Kerry Neuendorff and wife Annette; grandchildren Kayla, Rachel, Crystal, Cody, Sean, Tristan, Sydney, David, Erica, René, Jackie, Cody M., Clint, Tessa, Cassie, Larry, Jr., Colin, John Cole, Joshua, Connor, Sawyer, and Walker; and a loving host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Dorthy Neuendorff.
Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas with Deacon John Glueck officiating. Visitation was Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial took place in St. Roch Catholic Cemetery in Mentz, Texas.
The pallbearers were Jason Neuendorff, Clint May, Brent Nelson, Larry Mc-Grath, Keith Neuendorff, and Carl Sebesta. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Neuendorff, Kerry Neuendorff, David Morris, Jason West, and John West, III.
