He was born on September 26, 1949, to G. E. Drescher and Margaret Aloise (Ulrich) Drescher in Columbus, Texas. On October 4, 1974, he married Linda Joyce McKnight in Beaumont, Texas.

He went to the Texas School for the Deaf. David worked as a machinist for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and helping his nephew Shane in the shop. Most of his days were spent with his grand puppy, Castle.

David is survived by his daughter Kristie Weaver, sister Patricia “Pat” Mackey, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda McKnight Drescher; parents G. E. and Margaret Drescher; brother Roy Drescher and wife Janet Drescher; in-laws Wilburn “Shorty” and Joyce McKnight; brother-in-law Bryan McKnight.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Morrison officiating.

The burial took place in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.
