MARGARET MUNSON MILLER

Margaret Munson Miller, 89, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on Feb. 12, 2023, in Columbus, Texas surrounded by her family.

She was born on Aug. 18, 1933 to Russell W. Munson and Alberta (Haygood) Munson in Alameda, California. On Aug. 15, 1953 she married Gus H. Miller, Jr. in San Marcos, Texas.

Margaret was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Columbus. She was very active in the church and sang in the choir, was the choir director for over 17 years, served on various church committees, was a substitute teacher for numerous years, and was a member of Methodist Women. She

was also a member of the Columbus Garden Club and a founding member of the Magnolia Homes Tour and the Colorado County Fair.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and playing bridge.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gus H. Miller, Jr.; daughters: Lisa M. McNutt and husband Al of Columbus, Anna M. Wessels and Mike Norris of Kerrville, Caroline M. Spradling and husband Chuck of Kyle; son Thomas G. Miller of Columbus; family member Richard Wessels; grandchildren: Jenna W. Summers and husband Eric of Kerrville, Audrey W. Mooney and husband Ryan of Fulshear, Matthew R. Wessels and wife Amanda of Boerne, Lindsay McNutt of Columbus, Katie McNutt and fiancé Manton Capers of Lewisville, Sara McNutt of Houston, Jake Spradl ing of Houston, and Zach Spradling of Kyle; great-grandchildren: Harper and June Summers, Hayes and Walker Mooney, Kora, Beau and Tuff Wessels; brother Russell W. Munson, Jr. and wife Linda of New York City.

She was preceded in death by her father Russell W. Munson; mother Alberta H. Munson; father- in-law Gus H. Miller, Sr.; mother-in-law Winnie K. Miller.

A private family graveside service will be held at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus, Texas officiated by Pastor Sunshine Reyes.

Pal lbearers are her grandsons: Eric Summers, Ryan Mooney, Matthew Wessels, Manton Capers, Jake Spradling and Zach Spradling.
