RUTTA

RUTTA

Patsy Delores Rutta was born March 2, 1953, to Delton (Buddy) and Margie Wendt in Bellville, Texas. She attended Bellville High School and played the clarinet in the band. Her passion for hairdressing became a reality after attending Rosenburg Beauty College and earning a degree in Cosmetology. She then married David Rutta of Columbus, Texas on Dec. 11, 1971. She worked in a salon in Katy, Texas until moving to Columbus in 1978. She had 2 sons, Jared and Jordan, homeschooling and teaching them Christian knowledge and values. Patsy would have 2 beautiful granddaughters, Ashley and Kaitlyn Rutta; along with countless pets and farm animals of which horses were her favorite.

Patsy is survived by her dad Delton Wendt; sisters Peggy Pfieffer and husband Odis and Pam Muske and husband Doyle; husband David of 30 years; sons Jared and Jordan; granddaughters Ashley and Kaitlyn; along with 9 nieces and nephews.

She always talked about her granddaughters Kaitlyn and Ashley and Patsy always had a smile when she would speak of them. She’d tell about their visits and how she shared her wisdom and her recipes with them. Boy, could she cook!

She always knew the exact scripture verse or the right Psalm to bring comfort and peace. Knowing of others’ challenges or family troubles she would pray endlessly. That was Patsy, wanting to bring comfort to others.

Offering support for her friends in the community, and being a caretaker of her hometown, became one of her passions. She took a proactive interest in supporting city government by getting involved and running for a city council position in Bellville. Patsy helped to found and chair the market goat division in The Colorado County Fair. That was Patsy, wanting to make a difference in the lives of others.

Patsy found joy in the simplest of things, like working in her yard and tending her potted plants. Horse-riding through pastures and cooking for family events was heaven for Patsy. Supporting her friends by always being willing to listen to their troubles and not speaking too much of hers. Through her, we learned to appreciate the beauty in everyday life.

We may have lost a beloved mom, grandmother, and friend, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Her loss has left an emptiness in our hearts. In this sorrow, we can find comfort in the memories we shared, the laughter, the tears, the quiet moments, the celebrations, and knowing her love for Jesus. She would want us to carry on and honor her, in the lessons she taught us, and in the love and friendship she shared. She never gave up hope and wouldn’t give in to her situations.

As we say goodbye, dear Patsy, know that your life was a masterpiece, filled with love and kindness and friendship. For those who knew you, you will continue to inspire, guide, and remind us of the wonderful person you were. To those that didn’t have that blessing, they will learn of your inspiring courage, faith, hope, and love through her family and countless close friends. Rest in peace, you will be missed, but your spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
