ERVIN ADOLPH MIETH JR.
ERVIN ADOLPH MIETH JR.
After college he met the love of his life, Mary Lou Schaare. They married on June 1, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. They had two children, Joshua Adam Mieth and Sarah Amanda Kuehl. Ervin worked many years in finance. He spent 17 years at Colorado County Savings and Loan in Columbus as a lender and at Industry State Bank for his final 21 working years, where he was president upon his retirement.
Besides family, church and baseball were the important things in Ervin’s life. He was involved in the St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm serving on the church council four different times as needed. He helped as needed from ushering as needed to helping make church decisions that touched other lives. Baseball was his other passion. He managed Little League in Industry for 6 years and played fastpitch and slowpitch in Fayetteville, Industry, and Brenham for a number of years. Ervin also was an original member of the Columbus rotisserie baseball league in the 1980s and continued to participate in the fantasy league until his death.
Ervin enjoyed traveling as well. He took his family on trips throughout the U.S., and in his later years he and Mary Lou went on many cruises and visited Lake Charles often. He also was a great dominoes player and wouldn’t pass up a game of 42, 80, 88 when given the opportunity. He taught both of his children to play at an early age.
Ervin went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Mieth, son Joshua Mieth and his wife Katie of Austin, Sarah Kuehl and her husband Kris of Katy, grandchildren Kyndall and Kyle Kuehl of Katy, sister-in-law Ruth Szymanski of Sealy, and numerous nieces and nephews who miss him very much. He was preceded in death by his parents.
