JOHN WESLEY DUNCAN
JOHN WESLEY DUNCAN
He was a true son of the Lone Star State, and he carried its spirit with him throughout his life.
Wesley was a proud graduate of Rice High School in Altair, Texas, and he furthered his education at Wharton County Junior College. His love for the land and the creatures that roam it led him to a fulfilling career as a ranch manager.
He was not just working on the ranch but truly lived for it. The joy he found in working with horses radiated through his actions and interactions, inspiring others to appreciate the beauty and power of these magnificent animals.
A man of many passions, Wesley found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hog hunter and a skilled trainer of hunting dogs. The thrill of the hunt, the serenity of nature, and the companionship of his faithful canine companions were sources of endless joy for Wesley. His love for the outdoors was infectious, inspiring others to appreciate the beauty of nature and the thrill of the hunt.
Above all, Wesley was a dedicated family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Martha Duncan. Survivors include his sisters Debbie (Jack) Vawter and Ann (Kenny) Graham.
He was a loving husband to his wife, Janet, a devoted father to his children Misty, Sammy Joe, BJ and Ed, and a doting grandfather to Tylor, Austin, Alex, Dakota, Cheyenne, Wyatt, Tristan and Scarlett.
His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Seeing his grandchildren grow and thrive brought him immense joy, and his love for them was evident in every interaction.
Wesley lived his life with a courageous and faith-filled spirit that was truly inspirational. He would say nearly every morning, “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
His adventurous nature led him to live a life filled with excitement and joy. He faced each challenge with courage and determination, never backing down from any obstacle that life threw his way. He was a beacon of strength and resilience, inspiring those around him to face their own challenges with the same determination and courage.
In the words of Helen Keller, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
Wesley fully embodied this sentiment, living his life as a daring adventure and inspiring others to do the same. He was a testament to the power of faith, the strength of courage and the joy of adventure.
John Wesley Duncan was a man who lived his life to the fullest, leaving a lasting legacy of love, courage and adventure. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved family and friends.
