Weimar VFW Auxiliary Post 5875 installs officers for 2023-2024

WEIMAR – The Weimar VFW Auxiliary to Post 5875 held its regular meeting on May 9.

WEIMAR – The Weimar VFW Auxiliary to Post 5875 held its regular meeting on May 9.

Officers for 2023-2024 were installed in a ceremony conducted by Past Commander of VFW Post 5875 Frank White.

Jeanette Koenig and Charlene Muras said they presented certificates to campus principals at Weimar Elementary and St. Michael School for their participation in Auxiliary programs the past year.

The Auxiliary said the bake sale on April 22 was successful. The organization thanks the community for its support.

The next Men’s Coffee at Parkview will be Friday, May 19. The Buddy Poppy Drive will be on Saturday, May 20. Members will be at Kasper’s, MG and Lowe’s from 8 a.m. to noon. The VFW Memorial Day drivethrough dinner will be on Sunday, May 28. The Auxiliary said Buddy Poppies will be handed out for donations along the drive-through line.

For the Good of the Order, Jeanette Koenig reminded members to fly the U.S. Flag on Mother’s Day May 14, Armed Forces Day May 20, and Memorial Day on May 29.

The next meeting will be 6 p.m. June 13 at the VFW Hall kitchen.
