COLUMBUS – The fifth-grade classes of Columbus Elementary School and St. Anthony Catholic School were scheduled to bury a time capsule on Thursday, May 11 at the Courthouse.

The weather conditions leading up to the day did not allow the students to bury the time capsule. The Chamber will continue to monitor the weather and ground conditions to determine when the time capsule can be buried. The Chamber hopes the students will be able to bury the time capsule before the school year ends. Students are expected to finish school next week.

Until the time capsule burial takes place, the items that will go inside the capsule will be on display at Columbus First State Bank. Some of the items include a Habitat for Humanity birdhouse, Columbus Bicentennial items, a recipe book, T-shirt, and more.
