Peace Officer Memorial Day to be held May 15

COLUMBUS – In memory of the fallen and in honor of the Peace Officers and Law Enforcement of Colorado County, the public is invited to attend a Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony on Monday, May 15 on the west side of the Courthouse at 6 p.m.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week. Since then, people around the world take time to honor and show their appreciation and support for the Peace Officers and Law Enforcement Officials.
