DAR chapter honors proper flag display

The John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized John and Brenda Buehler for their proper display of the American Flag for the month of May. The chapter gave the Buehlers a Certificate of Award and the DAR yard sign. John told the chapter that the two 35 foot flag poles located at the entrance of the Buehler property were gifted to him by the developer of Cinco Ranch in 2007. John said there were three flag poles displayed at the original information centre and library prior to the land being sold. Knowing the new property owner would dispose of them, he offered them to John. He accepted. The 38-foot pole is on display of the property of a friends ranch outside of Mason, Texas. John also said, displaying the American Flag and the DAR yard sign reminded him of the song, ā€œIā€™m Proud to be an American.ā€
