SCHULENBERG – The Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual Toast returns on Jan. 26 at Sengelmann Hall, 531 N. Main St.

SCHULENBERG — The Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual Toast returns on Jan. 26 at Sengelmann Hall, 531 N. Main St.

The public is invited to attend the celebration. This year’s theme is “The Art of Turtle Wing,” and will highlight Turtle Wing individuals who have learned to express themselves and “grow wings” through the arts.

The program will consist of special performances by the Dancing Turtles (inclusive dance) and Ninja Turtles (inclusive Taekwondo) through the foundation’s partnership with On Pointe Dance Studio. Pieces of art created by Turtle Wing individuals will also be on display at the event through the foundation’s partnership with Arts for Rural Texas.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The program starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

The foundation says the goal of its annual Toast is “remembering, rejoicing and renewing” all its accomplishments. The mission of the Turtle Wing Foundation is to help individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential.
