LA GRANGE — The Fayette Community Foundation administered a $40,000 designated grant on behalf of an anonymous donor to the Fayette County EMS on Wednesday, April 12.
The foundation said the grant will be used to support the newly built Station 4 in Schulenburg and enhance EMS’s mission of providing high-quality emergency medical services to the residents of Fayette County.
“Fayette County EMS usually relies on hand-me-down furniture and appliances,” said Fayette County EMS Chief Josh Vandever. “These funds being made available are going to provide for the comfort and morale of our EMS workers as they work their extended shifts.”
The foundation said the Fayette County EMS is an integral component of the county’s emergency response system, providing critical care to those in need. The station’s dedicated staff work diligently to ensure that Fayette County residents have access to the care they need when they need it, the foundation said in a release.
“We are so honored to be able to assist the Fayette County EMS through this designated grant,” said FCF Executive Director Susannah Mikulin. “We know that our first responders work tirelessly every day to serve our rural residents and we hope that the community will join in continuing to support their efforts.”
FCF is committed to enhancing the quality of life in Fayette County by connecting donors with causes they care about. This designated grant is just one example of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to build stronger, safer, and more vibrant communities by providing a bridge that connects caring philanthropists to those in need.
