So Much Happening!

Can you feel the excitement in the air? So many local events are coming up in the next few weeks, and we at the Chamber would like to share them with you. Below is an extensive list of events for everything from the Bicentennial Log Cabin Raffle, with proceeds benefiting nonprofit organizations that work with children, to the music line-up for the Magnolia Days Festival.

Live Oak Art Center has several exhibits and contests in the works; Habitat for Humanity invites everyone out to their first annual Community Connections Day, take the kids on a short road trip to Kids Cows & More in Schulenburg for their 2023 Farm Animal Baby Shower, and do not forget the National Day of Prayer hosted by Columbus Christian Women’s Organization on Thursday, May 4 at noon. So, let’s show up in force to stand together in prayer for our community, nation, and world.

If you are a runner, there are several 5K Runs on the schedule including the 5K Fun Run on Jack Hooper Day on May 6 at Wolter’s Park in Schulenburg. Proceeds benefit the Turtle Wing Foundation. On Saturday, May 13, you can run during the 5K Run and Kid’s Mile Fun Run during the Gedenke! Weimar German Festival. And, the inaugural Magnolia Days Festival 5K Run and Kid’s Mile Fun Run sponsored by Columbus Physical Therapy will take place on Saturday, May 20 beginning at 8:45 a.m. at Hound Song Brewing Company.

Did someone say FOOD? Then you won’t want to miss the next cooking class at Kitchen Thyme in Columbus. On Saturday, May 13 enjoy Pan Sauce 101 with Chef Raoul. You must pre-register by calling 979500-4102. Enjoy steak night every Thursday at Blake’s Kitchen & Kocktailz, Surf n’ Turf the first Saturday of each month at Pilsner’s Place CafĂ©, and different food trucks each Thursday from 5-10 at The Courtyard Wine Bar in downtown Columbus. Get your tickets before May 12 for the German Dinner on the Courthouse Square in Columbus on May 18 from 6-8 pm. Celebrate our German heritagewith mixedsalad, Zigeunerschnitzel, homemade sausage, chef potatoes, purple cabbage, and Black Forest cake for dessert catered by Chef Raoul Catering. Tickets are $20 each, available at the Columbus Chamber, and sold in advance only.
