EMS to revamp area near opportunity center

COLUMBUS –The Colorado County commissioners met on Jan. 9. At the meeting, Michael Furrh, EMS Director, went before the commissioner court to discuss potential construction being done at EMS Station No. 3 at Eagle Lake. The station is currently located near the Colorado County Opportunity Center. Furrh asked for approval to seek proposal from contractors. Precinct 4 Commissioner Darrell Gertson pointed out that the current station is a key area due to accessibility in the event of accidents or other incidents that may occur where it is located. The court approved.

Furrh went on to mention how the space can help them store generators to be able to work on ambulances without having to send them in to dealerships which can help with money and neatness of the area. The motion was passed.
