The Friends of the Weimar Public Library welcomes all area poets of any age to participate in the library’s National Poetry Month celebration.
On Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m., members of the surrounding communities are invited to participate in an Open Mic Night by sharing their gift of poetry at the outdoor gazebo by the library.
Participants may choose to read their own original works or one by their favorite poet.
The event is intended to celebrate the community members who enjoy and write poetry, an art form that has declined in recent years but has been revitalized during the pandemic. Celebrate an evening of poetry with the area’s local poets. Light refreshments will be served.
