ALEXANDRA SCHILLING

As a 1994 graduate of Rice High School, I grew up in the Rice Consolidated School District since kindergarten. Now a mom to a 13-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son, I am eager to get to work for you the taxpayer on behalf of the district.

The key points I plan to champion: (1) Clarity in Communication. Everyone included! Whether it’s to the taxpayer, students, parents, faculty and/or staff.

(2) Respect for the Individual! Once again, be it the taxpayer, students, parents, faculty and/or staff; concerning standard operational procedures.

(3) Budgeting and Allocation. Ensuring that to the best of its ability, the ISD Board is committed to the best possible return.

Yes, I am also running because recent events made it clear that parents are not being informed when their child is drifting towards a potentially dangerous association or situation. Also because, barring specific circumstances, students are being searched without parental consent, or notification.
