LA GRANGE - The Rural Nonprofit Networking Group is excited to invite all nonprofit staff and volunteers to join their next gathering on Wednesday, April 12.

Organizations interested in participating are also invited to attend. RNNG said a virtual option will be available.

This month, the gathering will be hosted by Fayette County Habitat for Humanity. The gathering starts at 10 a.m. at Blinn College, room 120, 100 Ranger Dr, Schulenburg.

Executive Director for Habitat Kenny Couch will facilitate the discussion. The topic will be building an effective board. The conversation will not only cover how to recruit board members, but also how to get them involved in the work and mission of one's nonprofit.

According to a release, RNNG creates opportunities for the organizations that do so much good in our rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties.

Established in 2005, Fayette County Habitat for Humanity partners with members of our community to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With the community's support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
