There are some upcoming changes to the 2023 Colorado County Fair.
Traditionally, the event has been held on the second weekend of September. Due to a scheduling date with the carnival, the junior livestock show and auction will still be held on the second weekend. The fair with carnival, entertainment, rodeo, vendors, displays, etc. will be held on the third weekend of September.
There will be limited events throughout the week. The Queen Pageant, Jr. Queen and Little Miss and Mister dates will be announced in the near future. Preparation for Senior Citizen Day is underway for Thursday. Tejano Night will be Friday night and other entertainment to be announced will be on Saturday. The Special Needs Rodeo, Pet Show and other events will be on the third weekend.
Updates will also be available on coloradocountyfair. org and KULM.
Reminder: The Rajun Cajun Crawfish Boil is April 29 at the fairgrounds. This event is held each year to benefit the fair’s scholarship fund. This year will also feature team roping at noon. The social begins at 5 p.m. with serving starting at 6 p.m. There will be a live auction and the junior fair board will host a silent auction to help fund more scholarships for members.
Tickets are $40 per person. A limited amount of tables for eight people are currently available for $350. The fair said they are glad to have Darrell Appelt DJ the event.
Also added to the prefair fundraisers are plans for an upcoming fun run and dance sponsored by Friends of the Fair.
