EAGLE LAKE POLICE NEWS

On February 1st Officer Trench observed a vehicle speeding in the 600 block of S. McCarty and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was found to be driving with an invalid license with previous convictions. Subsequently, the situation escalated and Terrence Carter, 27, of Eagle Lake was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was then transported to the Colorado County Jail.

On February 2nd Officer Arrison initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of W. Post Office St. on a vehicle with no license plates. Samuel Reynolds, 27, of Pleasanton was found to be driving with a suspended license with previous convictions. He was arrested and transported to the Colorado County Jail.

On February 3rd Officer Trench observed a vehicle traveling on E. Main St. without the headlights on. After a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle Michael Scott Jr., 29, of Eagle Lake was arrested for possession of marijuana and issued a citation for having an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle. He was then given a courtesy transport to the Colorado County Jail.

On February 12th Officer Byars responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of E. Main St. After contacting the involved parties to assess the situation, one of the parties became uncooperative. This led to Rachelle Shorter, 36, of Eagle Lake being arrested for failing to identify and resisting arrest. She was subsequently transported to the Colorado County Jail.

On February 15th Officer Blackburn was dispatched to the report of a missing juvenile in the 800 block of E. “B” St. The Eagle Lake Police Dept. along with the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and Office of Emergency Management began a search for the juvenile. The child was later located at the Eagle Lake Middle School and returned to the mother.

On February 15th Officer Niklas was dispatched to a disturbance in the 600 block of E. “B” St. Upon arrival it was found that one of the parties had ripped the mirror off a vehicle and assaulted two victims. Nichole Wallace, 43, of Eagle Lake was cited for assault by contact and later arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief.

On February 25th Officer Arrison was notified of a motorist assist in the county involving an individual with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg. Officer Arrison arrived first on scene and applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg to control the bleeding. The scene was later turned over to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado County EMS.

On February 28th Officer Byars was dispatched to a possible disturbance in the 400 block of E. State St. After a brief investigation it was determined that no criminal offense had occurred, and advice was given to the parties involved.
